How Will I Benefit?
ICAO Regulations and National Regulations require that from January 2009 all Airlines, Air Traffic Service Providers, Approved Aviation Maintenance Organizations and Aerodromes implement a Safety Management System (SMS). Such a system is necessary in order to manage operational risks and keep high safety standards in all aviation operations therefore reducing aviation accidents and incidents.
Recent cases indicate that appropriate implementation of SMS can also offer operational and financial benefits to aviation organizations.
The course has been developed based on the ICAO SMS course. It uses the ICAO model of establishing a SMS and the ICAO SMM ( 9859) as a reference. The course has been enriched with information such as the latest developments in SMS requirements and with recent experience from aviation organizations that have implemented SMS
